2014-2023: Research Oriented Bachelor Thesis with Nature of Science (Stifterverband)
Physics teacher students have the possibility to write their bachelor thesis in the domain of physics. In this case, a major goal is to deeply understand and present a physical topic. Such a domain specific bachelor thesis is usually the only learning opportunity during the entire teacher education for making extensive research experiences in physics. Besides teaching physics concepts, an important task for physics teachers is also to help pupils develop an adequate understanding of the nature of science. By connecting to a seminar about nature of science (NOS) the teacher students shall reflect on their research experiences and analyse them with regard to educational implications. This approach aims at a goal-oriented treatment of the research experiences in view of the professionalization as a physics teacher.
