Dr. Yahya Han Erbaş will be visiting Universtät Hamburg from 20-28 October 2019 within the Erasmus lecturer exchange program.
Dr. Erbaş completed his B.Sc. degree in Elementary Education at Cumhuriyet University, School of Education in 2005. He worked on the southeastern part of Turkey with first to fifth grade students as an elementary school teacher for more than a year. Then he decided to pursue MSc. and PhD degrees and applied to a scholarship program. He was awarded with a scholarship by the Ministry of National Education (MONE) to pursue a graduate degree in the United States of America. In 2011, he completed his M.Sc. in Elementary Education, and in 2017 his PhD in Literacy, Culture, and Language Education at Indiana University Bloomington's School of Education. During his graduate studies, he concentrated on multicultural education, teacher education, qualitative research and literacy education. In 2018, he returned to Turkey and started his academic career at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University where he became a lecturer.
He is currently member of the Turkish Educational Research Association and organized several congresses in Turkey and USA. He is also a member of the committee that organizes the Thirteenth International Congress of Educational Research, which will take place at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University from April 09-12, 2020. The theme of the 2020 Congress is "Educational Research in Times of Glocal Crisis: Migration, Diversity and Integration".
