Dr. Magali N. Alloatti holds a scholarship funded by CAPES and will stay in Hamburg until the end of December 2020. During this time, she works on the cooperative project "Transnational families: Gender and Education"of Sara Fürstenau and Glaucia de Oliveira Assis (UDESC, Brazil).
She obtained a PhD in sociology from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil) in cooperation with University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). During 2018 – 2019 she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory for Gender and Family relations at the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC) working with the State Observatory for Migrations in Santa Catarina and a Professor of Politics in Brazil at the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) based in Florianópolis, Brazil. In In 2017 she was a Guest Lecturer at the Department of Sociology in Bielefeld University and since 2018 she has participated in events organized by the International Feminist Journal of Politics (IFJP), International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE), Women Deliver, among others.
Her main interests are international migration; gender; women’s economic empowerment; empowerment; ethnic and female entrepreneurship.
