Pilot project "Development of mathematical concepts under the conditions of deafness and sign language competences"
Description: In this project, the MARKO-D, a test for arithmetic number development, will be adapted into German Sign Language. Special attention will be given to sign language translation techniques of e.g. quantity and number ratios and their effects on task formats. The test adaptation will be piloted on a small group of deaf children.
Duration: 2012
Project leadership: Prof. Dr. Barbara Hänel-Faulhaber, Prof. Dr. Gabriele Ricken
