Research
Our research group focuses on the acquisition and processing of German and German Sign Language among different learning groups and on their impact on learning. Close interfaculty cooperation exists between the Institute of German Sign Language and Communication of the Deaf (IDGS) and the Department of Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology. Our research involves experimental psychological approaches, on the one hand, and methods of (video) observation and questioning, on the other.
We conduct research within the faculty research area Literacy in Diversity Settings—Language and Education in the 21st Century.
