Studies
Our courses offered in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs are aimed at students enrolled in general education and teacher training programs. This group is increasingly confronted with questions of optimal development and socialization in childhood and adolescence in a digitally influenced society. In introductory courses, we assist students in developing basic theories and concepts of growing up in a mediatized society, media education as well as teaching and learning using digital technologies. In in-depth courses, we explore theoretical and practical questions pertaining to media education. In research workshops, we apply empirical research methods to determine the conditions and consequences of mediatized educational processes and the conditions needed for successfully integrating digital technologies into teaching and learning settings. The workshops give students the opportunity to gain practical knowledge and skills in working with qualitative and quantitative methods as well as to develop and research their own thesis topic.
As part of the degree programs within the Faculty of Education we offer courses on the following topics:
- Teaching and learning with digital educational technologies
- Research workshops on topics of media education and digitalization in education
- Quantitative and qualitative methods of empirical educational research
- Educational sociological aspects of dealing with media and digital technologies in interaction with social transformations in education
