Kursdetails:
A look into the black box of academic publishing
Early career researchers are all too aware of the imperative to publish (in English) but daunted by the process how to actually get there. This workshop is intended to demystify academic publishing for humanities and social sciences scholars. Guided by an experienced academic author, reviewer, and editor, whose citations put her in the top-2% of most influential academics internationally,* we’ll take a look behind the scenes of academic publishing.
Depending on the specific interests of the attendees, topics will include:
- From doing the research to journal publication: what are the steps in between?
- Turning your PhD into an impactful monograph
- Avoiding predatory publishers and other pitfalls
- Developing a multilingual publication strategy
- Getting your publications in front of readers
- Cultivating your networks
- Grant applications, English CVs, and the international job search
