The 20th Conference “Informatik und Schule” (INFOS 2023) of the German Informatics Society (GI), organized by the Universities of Rostock and Würzburg, took place in Würzburg from 20-22.09.2023 in sunny autumn weather. Every two years, computer science education researchers and computer science teachers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland come together at the German-language conference to discuss current contributions from science and school practice.
The Computer Science Education working group at Universität Hamburg was also represented. Moritz Kreinsen, PhD student in the working group, presented the joint research work on the topic of “Teacher reconstruction of students' conceptions on the subject of artificial intelligence”, which was developed together with pre-service teacher Maximilian Münzer and working group leader Prof. Dr. Sandra Schulz. The article builds on current research in the field of student conceptions of artificial intelligence, expands its perspective in the sense of the “model of educational reconstruction in computer science” (Diethelm et al., 2011) and gives an outlook on the continuation of this research in the context of “conceptual change theory”.
