Expert meeting of the steering group for the conception of a specialized sign lexicon for schools

As a continuation of the kick-off meeting with international speakers in November 2018, a steering group of deaf educators (in alphabetical order: Christian Borgwardt, Bengt Förster, Sieglinde Lemcke, Olga Rogachevskaya and Viktor Werner) met on March 21, 2019 to develop a concept for the collection, further development and standardization of subject-specific signs for the core subjects German and Mathematics.

A draft concept was created with the goal of presenting and further substantiate it in the next school-subject-separated meeting with deaf subject teachers for German and Mathematics. The next joint meeting of the steering group is scheduled for fall 2019.

The project is currently being developed in cooperation with the German Association for Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Fachgruppe Taube Pädagog*innen).
