"Deaf Pedagogies" - Talk by Dr. Paddy Ladd

On Monday, November 19, 2018, Dr. Paddy Ladd gave a guest talk entitled "Discovering Deaf Pedagogies - A Deafhood Approach." The lecture was organized in collaboration with Education Sciences, IDGS and the Hamburg Association of the Deaf. The founder of the term Deafhood, Paddy Ladd, first visited the library at IDGS and then gave an exciting talk in International Sign at Von-Melle-Park, interpreted by a team of deaf and hearing sign language interpreters and especially addressed to the target group of educators. After the very well attended talk, the discussions continued at a champagne reception with staff and students, representatives of the Deaf Association and other guests. It was an interesting and controversial exchange and we are very happy that Paddy Ladd came to Hamburg for the first time.

Online talk at the annual conference of the DGfE - Section for Special Education
