Delegates from Namibia visited Hamburg on Thursday, November 15, 2018. The Head of Department Special Education and Inclusion from the Namibian Ministry of Education Mrs. Nakashole and Mrs. Beinhauer from CLasH Deaf Kindergarten joined us for talks and presentations by Annika Herrmann (IDGS) and Viktor Werner (Teacher Training Special Education) and discussed interesting questions about education, training and professional life of deaf people in different countries. Afterwards, there was a profitable discussion with Andrea Schaffers, lecturer for sign language interpreting, on the topic of interpreter training. Simon Kollien, sign language lecturer, also offered the visitors a guided tour with information about the history of the IDGS. We were very pleased about the interest and wish the participants much success in the further development work on-site.
