Working meeting of deaf educators from 23.11.2018 to 25.11.2018

From 23.11.2018 to 25.11.2018, the kick-off meeting for the development of a specialized vocabulary for German Sign Language in the subjects German and Mathematics took place. The meeting was hosted by our team in cooperation with the German Professional Association for Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DFGS). The event was organized by our research assistant Viktor Werner and by Olga Rogachevskaya from DFGS. During the working meeting there were three international input presentations:

  • British Sign Language Glossaries of Curriculum Terms, Dr. Audrey Cameron (University of Edinburgh)
  • MINT subject vocabulary in higher education, Dr. Ingo Barth (Max-Planck-Institut Halle)
  • ÖGS-Specialized Signing Platform, Bernadette Auersperg (Vienna University of Technology)

In addition to the presentations, the working meeting included workshops as well as consultations by experts on various topics. In summary, it was agreed that these meetings will be repeated regularly in the future.

Online talk at the annual conference of the DGfE - Section for Special Education

The 55th Annual Meeting of the Special Education Section of the German Society for Educational Science (DGfE) took place online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Via Zoom, we presented results from the UKfa project on the role of play contexts in peer interactions in inclusive daycare centers.
