VirtEx – Virtual excursion didactics towards sustainability
The project aimed to develop teaching and learning approaches of virtual excursion didactics, using different formats such as videos, GIS applications, digital maps and virtual reality. These formats of virtual excursion didactics were used to develop knowledge in the field of intercultural sustainability.
Specifically, topics of sustainable urban development were virtually discovered and discussed using the cities of Hamburg and Paris as examples. In the project, a collaboration with the French didactics of geography at the Université de Paris took place, mainly through an exchange via video platforms, using synchronous and asynchronous formats. If the general conditions allow it, real excursions are also planned, an excursion to Paris for German students and an excursion of French students to Hamburg. Since both virtual and real excursions will be used, the project is based on a blended mobility concept.
