Following thorough consideration and short-term program adjustments as well as consultation with our colleagues at the partner universities, we are delighted that 37 students can now embark on their stays.
After international student mobility in the last 2 years was largely restricted, 3 student groups embarked on 14 February 2022 for their stays in Ghana and the United States.
As part of the Diversity Contexts in Teacher Education (DiCoT) project, 8 bachelor’s students will complete the orientation internship in Ghana and another 6 will do so in the United States in the upcoming 4 weeks. The students will gain international experience and insight into the respective school systems while expanding their diversity skills.
Thirteen master’s students will take part in a 4-week study camp in Ghana as part of the Tricontinental Teacher Training (TTT) project and the Cooperation for Educational Development Between Germany and Ghana (CEGG) project to gather experience of schools in an intercultural context. At the same time, another 10 master’s students will be taking part in a TTT study camp in the United States.
The students will be supervised before and during their stay from their respective project team and their colleagues at the partner universities Indiana University Bloomington, University of Education Winneba, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
At the end of the stays, there will be a separate article on the students’ experiences.
You can apply for an orientation internship as part of the DiCoT project as of 1 June 2022. More information on the exchange program and application procedure can be found here (in German only).
The next application phase for participation in the TTT project will begin in April 2022. We will post information about the application procedure on the website in due time.
