From 8–10 October 2024, the International Office in the Faculty of Education of the University of Hamburg welcomed coordinators and teachers from Erasmus partner universities.
The visit focused on the exploration of bilingual schools in Hamburg that teach natural sciences and language courses in English. Among other things, the delegation visited the Nelson-Mandela-School and the Gymnasium Eppendorf for a work shadowing and subsequent exchange. These visits offered valuable insights into innovative teaching methods and provided ample opportunity to discuss internship opportunities for students from partner universities.

In collaboration with the Center for Continuing Education (ZLH), the International Office has organized teaching placements for exchange students for several years. These teaching placements form an integral part of the the Ersamus semester exchange program.
This combination of exchange program and teaching placement abroad has become increasingly popular among Hamburg students. Students can apply to have the teaching placement recognized as an equivalent to introductory internships within their bachelor’s programs.
A visit to the Elbphilharmonie music hall and a harbor boat tour provided the visitors with memorable impressions of our fascinating city’s landmarks. We look forward to further promote exchange between international educational institutions to offer our students other inspiring opportunities.
