More than 13 years after the Fukushima nuclear accident, the tragedy may have faded from public consciousness, but its deep and lasting effects on our political, social, and economic landscape are still very much alive.
The "Hamadohri Environmental Radiation School 2024" at Osaka University offered the opportunity to bring these issues back to the forefront of our mind and reflect on critical questions. The presentation, aims to provide the audience with a deeper insight into:
· What exactly happened on that fateful day?
· How has the recovery progressed, and what challenges remain?
· How dangerous is radioactivity, and how does it continue to shape our understanding of safety?
· Most importantly, what is the current state of Fukushima today, and what lessons can we learn for the future?
