Projects of Specialization III: Language Learning in Subject-Specific Education
Specialization 3 “Language Learning in Subject-Specific Education” highlights the essential role of language as a learning prerequisite, learning tool, and learning goal in all subjects of the general school system. As part of this research, the connections between linguistic prerequisites and learning success are analyzed, as well as the effect of language-explicit support measures and the linguistic characteristics of learning materials on the acquisition of subject-specific and linguistic skills. In addition, the approach of language-explicit subject teaching, which aims to specifically promote students' language skills and strengthen the link between linguistic and subject-related learning content, is examined.
