Brief description
Brief description of the project
The project pursues the object to develop the competencies described in the Global Development Orientation Framework in an interdisciplinary way. Real-world social problems are so complex that it is difficult for learners to grasp the problem in an additive and subject-specific way, and networking is difficult to occur. This project is developing solutions for the strongest possible integration of subject perspectives without removing the organizational framework of a subject-separated STEM (MINT) offer, which is often difficult for schools to change. The aim is to investigate the effect of a subject-integrating teaching approach compared to conventional subject-separated teaching in terms of subject-related and interdisciplinary knowledge and skills development, the extent to which the developed learning environment is suitable for use in regular lessons from the teachers' perspective, and what types of obstacles can be reconstructed.
In order to answer the questions posed and to test the hypotheses, a pre-post intervention study will be carried out, for which both an interdisciplinary and a separate learning environment will be designed.
Established scales will be combined and adapted in order to answer the question of the effect of both learning environments with regard to subject-related and interdisciplinary knowledge and skills development. In addition, concept maps will be used to reconstruct the degree of knowledge networking. First, the teachers' views will be assessed by means of standardized short questionnaires after each lesson. In addition, the views of the participating teachers will be evaluated using guided interviews at different points in time.
