Workshop at the Diversity-Days of the University of Hamburg

As part of Diversity Days 2024, we, the LIDS emerging research group, hosted an engaging workshop on June 10th titled "Multilingualism as an Individual Resource." In the workshop, we used creative methods from multilingualism research (e. g. language portraits) to explore and reflect the diverse linguistic experiences of our participants. We delved into their own multilingual journeys through interactive stations focused on ‘Identity,’ ‘School,’ and the ‘Labor Market,’ which allowed them to form their own opinions on the role of multilingualism in their life.

The lively group discussion that followed was truly inspiring, highlighting how multilingualism is seen as a valuable asset, a bridge to cultural diversity, and an integral part of our daily lives.
